Snakes of Australia

The snakes of Australia include some 208 species of snakes (including sea snakes), and some 64 subspecies.
Although Australia has more venomous snakes than non venomous snakes, only 12 species can inflict a bite that could result in human fatalities.

Snakes can be found in all six states as well as both territories.
